Connection Not Found

The other day in my post about Sardi's, I pondered what producing a Broadway musical was like without the internet.

Today, I found out.

No Internet. No Server. No Printing. No Problem?

Randy Adams was the man of the hour with his laptop hooked into his Blackberry and the Junkyard Dogs got down to the business of producing in the conference room. I cleaned my desk and reorganized my computer cables which felt very important though has little to no bearing on getting Memphis open.

Today was the first rehearsal for the new Memphis cast!

(I hope to have pictures from rehearsal towards the end of the week- according to the Actor's Equity rules, performers need a 24 hour notice before any photography can happen).

While I didn't make it to this morning's "meet and greet," I did make it there for the end of the day. Though only there for 15 minutes or so, it was enough to watch Serjio (Choreographer) get some DANCIN' out of them.

This was full on dancing. Lifted battements into assisted splits- I mean, one has to be warmed up to do these things. Fortunately, Vivian Nixon, Danny Tidwell, LaQuet Sharnell, and Ephraim Sykes were all over it.

Jermaine Rembert (Dance Captain) said when rehearsal was over, "I am SO happy."

Here's hoping that I will be saying the same thing when I get to the office tomorrow and am able to blog- I mean, email important work related things from my newly refreshed work space.

P.S. Load In of all the set, lighting and sound equipment has begun in the Shubert Theatre so I am hoping to get over there tomorrow to see what that is all about.

P.P.S. I thought this chick was awesome:

Rockin' out in front of the Shubert Theatre.
Unfortunately, NYPD didn't think it was so awesome and shut it down.

P.P.P.S. I have had a lot of comments on the cheese at Sardi's. I'd like to additionally report that it is this sort of whipped cheese, like the kind you might have had in a snack pack and eaten with a red plastic tool. It's a must.
